UDA Participates in National Dance Day
Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and judge of the FOX hit television series, So You Think You Can Dance, has declared July 31, NATIONAL DANCE DAY. So what is National Dance Day? It is a grassroots initiative that encourages the nation, young and old, to move! Individuals, families, organizations and communities from across the nation can bond together through their love of dance. UDA wants to help YOU get involved with National Dance Day.
So You Think You Can Dance’s Hip Hop choreographers, Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo, have created a short Dizzy Feet Foundation dance routine for the July 31st dance day. You can find the link to the routine by visiting the UDA Facebook page. If you are attending a UDA Camp anytime between July 20 - July 31, you will have the opportunity to learn the routine from our UDA Staff during hip hop warm-up. If you have already attended UDA Summer Camp, you can still participate in National Dance Day.
Inspire others to dance! Teach the National Dance Day Routine to a group of people, record your performance, and upload it to the UDA Facebook page. Here are a few different groups that you can teach the routine to and inspire to dance:
-Your dance team
-Your entire family
-A group of friends in your neighborhood
-Children at a preschool or daycare center
-Your parents and their co-workers
-A local gym, fitness class, or dance studio
